About Me.
Let me tell you a little about myself. The truth is that without Jesus, I am lost. Yet, He found me and made me new. I have had a love for God’s Word since I was a young girl.
I am married to my heart’s desire. Before meeting him, I was widowed before my son was born and had been single for 15 years. I have served in the Air Force and went to the University of Texas and earned a BS in nursing. I am the oldest sibling in my family. The roles that I fulfill are daughter, sister, wife, mother, and as of August 2015 an aunt. God has called me to speak and I have the privilege to speak for Jesus through Stonecroft Ministries. I serve in my church by working with a group of unique individuals with differing needs.
Why I blog.
In 2015, I made a trip to see my biological father before his death and he once had a blog. I felt inspired to start my journey to blog. I desire to encourage other fellow believers to dig deeper into the word of God.
A short time after I began, God gave me Proverbs 2:1-5 as my confirmation of my blog, “…if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures….” I was curious about the difference between gold and silver mining. This is what I found in my research. Silver miners often found silver in combination with a number of different things such as chlorine and antimony to name just a couple. There were silver rushes many years ago like gold rushes. Silver towns lasted longer than gold towns because of what else was found with the silver. Other companies came along and used the other materials to make batteries or pewter.
Silver Mining God’s Word.
For me, silver mining God’s Word is taking time with a passage of scripture and focusing on the meaning of certain words. For example, the definition of insight is ‘the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing.’ Therefore, in order, to gain a deep and intuitive understanding of God, we need to seek insight like silver in the study of His word. As I have begun this journey God has revealed it to me that my hidden treasures are in my daily life when I stop and look for the good in what happened in my day. I desire to impart what I have mined in God’s Word to anyone who takes the time to read my blog.
